First things first
Our Dog Policy: What We Need From You
Proof of the following vaccinations:
- Rabies (every 3 years)
- DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza & parvovirus) (annually)
- Bordetella (kennel cough). Always check that your dog has been vaccinated against kennel cough, as not all vets give this vaccine with standard vaccinations (annually)
Please note: Dogs without up-to-date vaccinations will not be allowed into the hotel, and reservations made, regardless of these requirements, must be paid in full by the owner.
Additional requirements
Please ensure your pet regularly has flea and tick treatment as well as deworming treatment. All dogs must also have a name tag and a collar.
Assessment & temperament requirements
All dogs staying with us will be screened to determine their temperament and social behaviours.
Sterilization requirements
Please neuter all male dogs at 6 months and spay all female dogs at 6 months before bringing them to atFrits.
Please note: According to the new Animal By Law in the City of Cape Town, all dogs over 6 months of age must be sterilised unless you have a permit from the City. As an animal care facility, atFrits is not allowed to care for unsterilised dogs over 6 months of age. For more information, please visit this link.
